Volunteer Opportunities

The memorial is right around the corner! We have some urgent needs you may be able to help with, so please look at the volunteer opportunities below and consider signing up for one. Just check the box next to any item(s) you can help with, and make sure to provide your contact information so we can follow up.

This event is one of the most important annual events in the lives of many Banyamulenge refugees living in the U.S. — thank you for helping us make it a great event for them.

Volunteers Needed

 Guest transportation

Pick up refugee survivors from bus, train and airplane terminals to their lodgings and host event venue

 Lodging

Lodging: Offer your homes and/or motel

 Serve food at event

Volunteers needed for lunch and dinner shifts (Saturday and Sunday)

 Set up food at event

Assist with set up of table linens, decorations, roasting pan brackets/burners, napkins, utensils, water, soda, etc. Also to keep buffet tables neat, clean and well stocked

 Event clean up

Remove paper plates and trash and dispose to designated areas. Keep trash pickup up during the event. Clean up after the event.

 Ushers

Usher during the event

 Event promotion

Help us promote the event - reach out to communities, organizations, officials and media
